Optimisation
Vismail optimises the viewer experience - whether they are viewing through a pop mail system like Outlook, or a Web-mail system like AOL.
In pop-mail systems the video travels with the email and plays immediately the email opens.
In web-mail systems the video is called from the server when the email is accessed.
Compatibility
The system is cross platform and will play on the following Operating Systems: Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP, MAC OS 8 and above, Fedora (linux)
Vismail is currently compatible with the following email clients: Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Lotus Notes (V5 and above), Office Talk, My Office,

End User Requirements
Vismail does not require any specialized plug-ins to view.
Vismails can be produced on any PC or MAC without any software installation.
The Vismail Media Suite will currently only run on a PC running Windows 2000 or XP.
Video Quality
The video quality is high compared with other systems -
Video is played back at 25 frames per second and the dimensions can scale up to 400 x 300 pixels.
Whatever the computer, operating system, or email client the user experience is consistently high.
Technologies used
Vismail uses a combination of SQL, ASP and JAVA running on a suite of NT webservers.
This is complimented by a set of Linux based smtp email servers
Security & Scalibilty
Vismail is run on a dedicated server farm hosted by DXI Networks.
DXI handle the online hosting requirements for a selection of large corporations, information providers to investment banks, well known online commerce sites and content distributors.
